Christ Centered Publications' main
purpose is to glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by serving as His
instrument in declaring and spreading His truth educationally.

The Advantage of Christ Centered
Curriculum
Uniquely Scriptural
Capturing young minds captures the future.
God expects us to protect our children's minds and hearts by diligently
passing on the faith (Col. 2:8, Psalm 78:5-7). Curriculum choices can help
us reach that goal, or detract from it. You see, all curriculums are
inherently religious because a world view (the way we look at everything
around us) is at the very core. Therefore, the Christian family should
prayerfully select materials that pass on a thoroughly biblical world
view. In the Christ-Centered Curriculum for Early Childhood (CCC) program,
we have not simply tacked on some Bible verses to ordinary secular
courses. As fundamental skills are being taught, the content, saturated
with the truths of Scripture, trains both a child's mind and heart to view
the world from God's perspective. The 1st-6th Grade Recommendations
include further CCC elements plus other publishers' texts that are
consistent with our philosophy. Because He has promised that His Word will
not return unto Him void (Isa 55:11), we can trust that the Lord will
indeed bless such faithful instruction.
Academically Superior
The
CCC phonics and math programs were developed at Rocky Bayou Christian
School as a result of what their K3-K5 (Pre-K and Kindergarten) students
were achieving regularly-with delight! For example, as measured by the
1970 California Achievement Test (CAT) designed for first graders,
5-year-olds with one year's education have traditionally scored a median
grade Equivalent (G.E.) of 2.25, and a median Percentile of 86.4.
Five-year-olds with two years of Christ-Centered Phonics and Math have
traditionally scored a 3.02 median G.E., and a median Percentile of 98.8.
Chapter Eight, "Building on the Foundation: Three to Six" of Doreen
Claggett's challenging book NEVER TOO EARLY (item 100 at Family Resources)
shares RBCS' exciting experience. Since the book's release in 1989,
Christ-Centered Phonics was further developed to include advanced 1st/2nd
grades. Beyond that, the following 1st through 6th grade high quality
materials have been added to our catalog: Susan Bradrick's Understanding
Writing, Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) spelling,
Our Christian Heritage's history/geography/government, Creation Research
Institute's Good Science Curriculum, and Professor B's Mathematics Power
Learning for Children: Levels I-III.
Easily Learned
Because all lesson plans provide step-by-step guidance, teaching phonics,
reading, and math is a cinch-even for the novice! After the early
childhood materials are completed, you will have laid a tremendous
foundation and easily be able to teach the recommended 1st through 6th
grade courses.
